White cabinets are still the favorite for kitchen renovations, followed by wood and gray, according to Houzz.com. However, white and gray tones are beginning to warm up, and dark cabinetry is also on the rise. Matte black and navy blue are gaining popularity – especially for lower cabinets – while soft blue, sage and emerald are also popular.
Countertops are trending darker as well, and there's a growing demand for black marble with gold and white veining. Navy counters are also an in-vogue option.
This year's Kitchen & Bath Industry Show introduced more engineered wood options for countertops, plus European-inspired ultrathin options that are only a half-inch thick.
